Windows 10 is an operating system which is home to both, the most wonderful of features and the ugliest of bugs. Users have experienced a ton of issues with this new and improved operating system, which is the main reason why I still did not upgrade. One of the many issues which the windows 10 users have been facing after they upgrade to it, is the Windows 10 Keyboard not working issue.

We observe these issues commonly after a very well-known update in Windows 10.

The creator’s update, remember that one? It was the cause of most of the problems that caused many of the faithful windows OS users to suffer. Heck, even I have written two other posts on issues caused by the same update. So, word of advice that you can give others from this experience of yours: Do not install the frigging creator’s update on windows 10. There is nothing on that entire OS that can be useful to “creators” in the first place.

I mean, what could be more annoying than the version that was supposed to be an update, deprives you of the most primary impute method of your laptop or our personal computer? What’s next, hard bricking the laptop itself? Anyway, we won’t be ranting about windows OS and its crappy issues here. Okay, maybe I will rant a little bit here and there, but the primary intention as to why this paragraph is being written is to help you solve the Windows 10 Keyboard Stopped working problem.

One important note that I want to be put here is that, if your mouse and keyboards have their independent drivers (in a sense, if they are not mapped directly by the OS itself).

Also, which they probably do, you should always keep a backup of them in some other storage media. They can always come in handy in situations like these, or even when you refresh your PC which erases the drivers.

Method 1: Update Your BIOS

Sometimes, when your BIOS is outdated, the native driver software such as the mouse driver as well as the keyboard drivers might not work correctly. Also, to eradicate this issue and effectively avoid the Windows 10 Keyboard not working error, you need to update your BIOS. Follow these simple steps to update your BIOS.

update your bios

It is always a good practice to update your BIOS to the latest version. If your BIOS on the desktop or laptop gets outdated, you will have to deal with a lot of problems in the future.

However, let it be known that updating BIOS on a computer is not exactly risk-free on its own. It might bring a lot of issues of its own, in rare cases. If something goes sideways, the entire functionality of your PC can be affected, and could be made unusable!

So, it would be wise for you to update the BIOS in the most professional way possible. These steps will work not only for the windows 10 but also on systems running on Windows 8.1, Windows 8, Windows 7 and older versions, either 64-bit or 32-bit.

You could do it using the built-in device manager utility in t windows OS, or you can use some other third-party apps, such as DriveTheLife (now called as Driver Talent).
